Race Report May 21st
With a Regional race in nearby Howell New Jersey,
coupled with a gloomy weather forecast, it was questionable
how many riders would show for todays race. Suprising,
the turnout was 209 split into 50 motos. Unfortunately,
after only 15 motos, the skies opened up and the rain
caused a stoppage in the racing action. After 20 minutes,
phone calls to friends in surrounding towns and a glance
at the doplar radar, the race was postponed.
The rain did let up after about an hour but the track
was wet and a little slippery. In the spirit of safety
we feel we made the correct decision.
It is now rescheduled as part of a double-header on
July 9th immediately following the regular race. This
make up will utilize the NBL's two moto system.
Special congratulations to Danny Batista who would
have raced for the first time ever as an 10 year old
Expert. Dan we are proud of your accomplishment and
look forward to seeing you in the 10x mix.
In pre-race ceremonies, Kevin Mottai was named the
Dozer's Place Rookie Rider of the week for his efforts
on May 7th.
There will be some pictures posted from todays practice
and a picture of our "Rider of the Week" posted
shortly.
Three more riders became "Sponsored Riders"
this week as Matt Bovat, Larry Coderre and Shay Brown
inked season long sponsorships. Check out the Sponsor
listings off the Rider Sponsorship page. 33 riders are
now set for the entire season.
Thanks to all who braved the forcast to join us today.
