Race Report May 3rd

Week 1

Well, it was hectic getting the track ready in time for todays 2009 inaugral event. The first turn project was finished with only one week to spare. Fresh paint was slapped on certain surfaces and the track was in excellent shape.

The weather report said very little chance of rain in this part of the state as the front would affect the southern half of Connecticut.

With 184 riders registered in class and another 10 in the Open Wheels money class, 194 riders would have been split into 51 motos had the unpredicted rain not started at 1:15. By 1:45 the rain had continued enough to cause the tracks surface to deterioate enough where rider safety was becoming a problem. The race was cancelled with a make up date yet to be determined.
