WELCOME TO FOOTHILLS BMX

THE TRACK AND SANCTION

Located in the picturesque hills of northwest Connecticut, the Foothills BMX facility is nestled in a cozy setting which incorporates great areas for viewing. The track is 1165 feet long and incorporates 5 asphalt turns.

We operate under the sanction of USABMX after 16 years under the NBL banner.

The Litchfield County BMX Group Incorporated is focused on making your visit to Foothills BMX an enjoyable experience.

The track will be closed to the public in 2022 on non-event days, use of the track for personal events including, but not limited to Birthday parties, private parties, training, private practices, just to name a few are prohibited. The track will maintain a sign-up sheet and use of the track will be monitored at all times. The track maintains 24-hour live video surveillance. It's unfortunate that it has come to this, but for far too long people took advantage of the facilities.

OUR VOLUNTEER
BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Our “Foundation of Teamwork” has proven to be the building blocks to our success.

Desiree.jpg

DESIREE RANSOM
PRESIDENT

In June of 2021 Desiree took over the position as President of Litchfield County BMX. She is also working on her third season as our track Clerk. She is your go to with all registration question on and off race days. She has been around the sport for 6 years. She says her two BMX'ers have learned Sportsmanship, Determination, teamwork and pride. We feel that these have rubbed off on her as well. We are excited to have her on board.

BRIAN KESL
TRACK OPERATOR

Brian will end the 2022 season as our interim track operator and will begin 2023 as the official track operator of Foothills! Brian was a key player in the success of the track in 2021 and 2022 as he assisted Desiree with track operations. Not only is he a committed volunteer at the track, you will see Brian and his son Brody racing around the track on Sundays for Scylent Rage Racing. We are so grateful to have Brian as he also volunteers his time with Torrington Youth Soccer. Brian begins his 4th year as a board member at Foothills BMX.

Vice President
Open 2023

Jen has been around BMX racing since the 2011 season when her 6 year old son and 4 year old daughter began racing. Joined in 2018 by her now 6 year old son, all three children are still racing. We thought we saw the last of the Lyman Family in 2021 as the family made a move to Georgia, but for one reason or another they have made it back to CT and will continue their volunteer work at Foothills BMX in 2022. Jennifer begins her Ninth season as our Secretary.

SCOTT GONYER
RACE ANNONCER

Back on the microphone in 2022 from Plaskett Tower! Scott has been around BMX for a couple of will call them dog years. Scott took on the task in 2020 to fill some pretty big shoes in the tower on the hill, but we are grateful to have him. If he's not in the tower he's on his bike racing around the track for OverHaul Racing, or watching his family race.

ANNE MACNEIL
 HEAD SCORER

We are pleased to have Anne return in 2022 as the head scorer of Foothills. Anne was also a very familiar face at the registration window in 2021 as she learned the ropes of race day registration. Sitting at the finish line all day on Sundays does have a perk or two, she gets a close-up view of her son Liam's race finishes.

CATHERINE BIELLO
TREASURER

Catherine has been involved with BMX since 2010. Now in her 12TH year as our Treasurer and no signs of slowing down. She has been the personality of the track on race days. She hands the Clerking reigns to Desiree as she has stepped down as Clerk after last season. She leaves very big shoes to fill but, thankfully, she will continue as our Treasurer.
