WELCOME TOÂ FOOTHILLS BMX
THE TRACK AND SANCTION
Located in the picturesque hills of northwest Connecticut, the Foothills BMX facility is nestled in a cozy setting which incorporates great areas for viewing. The track is 1165 feet long and incorporates 5 asphalt turns.
We operate under the sanction of USABMX after 16 years under the NBL banner.

The Litchfield County BMX Group Incorporated is focused on making your visit to Foothills BMX an enjoyable experience.
The track will be closed to the public in 2024 on non-event days, use of the track for personal events including, but not limited to Birthday parties, private parties, training, private practices, just to name a few are prohibited. The track will maintain a sign-up sheet and use of the track will be monitored at all times. The track maintains 24-hour live video surveillance. It's unfortunate that it has come to this, but for far too long people took advantage of the facilities.

OURÂ VOLUNTEER
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Our “Foundation of Teamwork” has proven to be the building blocks to our success. Our success goes far beyond our
board of directors. All of our volunteers at Foothills BMX makes every Sunday Funday a memorable one.
Thank your Volunteers!
DESIREE RANSOM
PRESIDENT
In June of 2021 Desiree took over the position as President of Litchfield County BMX. She is also working behind the scenes this year as the Track Treasurer. She has been around the sport for 8 years. She says her two BMX'ers have learned Sportsmanship, Determination, Teamwork, and Pride. We feel that these attributes have also rubbed off on Desiree as well. Without her dedication to promoting the sport of BMX and attracting sponsorships and donations along the way, none of this would be possible. We are excited to have her on board as she enters her second year as Track President and First year as Track Treasure.
BRIAN KESL
TRACK OPERATOR
Brian started as our Track Vice President in 2019 and 2023 will mark his first official season as our track operator! Brian is a key player in the success of Foothills. You will find him and his son Brody working hard on the track before race days to make sure it is smooth and ready to race every Sunday.
Not only is he our track operator, but you will also see him personally riding and racing on the track.
He will undoubtedly have the best seat in the house when he watches his son Brody race.
Please welcome Brian as our newest Track Operator in 2023!
Matt Markie
Vice President
Welcome Matt to the board of directors of Litchfield County BMX for our 2024 season!
Al Torrizo
Secretary
Like most of us Al came to the track with his children a few years ago, Al returned with them on a Sunday Funday to watch the races. They were immediately hooked and signed up for USABMX. You'll likely see his family racing together at tracks throughout Connecticut and the local area. Al looks forward to working together with our team to make Foothills a destination for regional racers!
Desiree Ransom
TREASURER
SCOTT GONYER
RACE ANNOUNCER
On the microphone in 2023 from Plaskett Tower! Scott has been around BMX for a couple of YEARS! He took on the task in 2020 of filling some pretty big shoes in the tower on the hill, he has done a phenomenal job and we are grateful to have him. We also think his predecessor would be proud. If Scott isn't in the tower he's on his bike racing around the track for his new race team Axle Nuts Racing, or watching his family race. Volunteering at Foothills on Sunday's is definitely a family affair for the Gonyers, you can typically find his wife Sarah loading the gates on the starting hill! If you have a chance to read our weekly race reports they're brought to you by yours truly!
Welcome back Scott!
CHRISTI BODWELL
TRACK CLERK
We welcome Christi to the board in 2023! She will be the new face of Foothills on race day at the registration window. Christi was introduced to BMX Racing in the spring of 2022 when she attended our open house with 2 of her sons and the rest is history! Now with 4 of her children racing BMX, Foothills has become their second home during the race season. Christi enjoys watching the camaraderie amongst the riders on and off the track and is looking forward to serving as the Track Clerk for the 2023 season.

The volunteer list could go on for miles at Foothills and these individuals make up the backbone of our track community, without their generosity to make every Sunday Funday, this would not be possible! Remember to thank a volunteer for all of their hard work and dedication!
